The Edmonton Oilers don’t expect Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to be back anytime soon as head coach Jay Woodcroft says the forward is “more week-to-week than he is day-to-day” with an upper-body injury.

Nugent-Hopkins returned home to Edmonton while the Oilers continue their road trip. The 28-year-old was hit along the boards by Florida Panthers forward Ryan Lomberg and appeared to injure his shoulder on the play.

In 44 games this season, Nugent-Hopkins has seven goals and 30 assists for 37 points.

Defenceman Duncan Keith is expected to return to the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The veteran took part in the team’s morning skate alongside Evan Bouchard.

Keith has been out since Feb. 9 after being placed in concussion protocol. Keith got his feet tied up with Chicago Blackhawks forward Sam Lafferty and went into the boards and laid on the ice before getting helped off.

In 34 games this season, the 38-year-old has one goal and 13 assists for 14 points.
