The new Suunto 5 Peak replaces the original Suunto 5 model with a lighter, more powerful, and sleeker GPS sports watch that also introduces a new feature for the brand.
Like the recently released Suunto 9 Peak, the 5 Peak goes for minimalism in both looks and weight. The new watch is 41% lighter, and it loses older model’s GPS nose for a slimmer profile. It delivers up to 100 hours of battery life while tracking your activity, and even longer if you just need it to tell the time and date.
Despite its small size and $329 price tag, it’s still a Suunto, though. Use their app’s 3D maps (or select third-party services) to plan your route, map it, then load that onto the watch for step-by-step navigation with easy-to-follow graphics. Or just use the bread crumb trail to find your way back.
The Suunto 5 Peak offers adaptive training guidance, and tracks heart rate, steps, calories, and recovery. It even measures sleep quality and duration, helping you know when you’re rested or when to take it easy on yourself.
Their new Burner feature calculates the grams of fat and carbohydrates burned while exercising, so you know when to take it easy on the fridge, too.

The Suunto 5 Peak has a selection of easily changeable accessory straps and introduces their first strap made from factory scraps, helping keep that material from ending up in the landfill. A total of nine different 22mm straps are available.
Available for pre-order on January 20, the Suunto 5 Peak starts shipping on February 1, 2022.
